Looking for aluminium windows and doors in Marlow? Inspired Glazing fabricates and installs aluminium windows and doors in-house at our works on Coningsby Farm in Fifield, about six miles from Marlow town centre. That means one team handles your survey, manufacture and fitting, from the first visit to the final adjustment.

We are a listed Reynaers at Home installer partner and hold Constructionline Silver. We fit Reynaers SlimLine 68 windows, Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors, Smart Visofold and Cortizo bifold doors, plus Cortizo and Alunet windows, composite doors and UPVC. This page explains which of those suits the kind of home you have in Marlow, what to check if you live in the conservation area, and how a survey and installation works.
Marlow homes and the aluminium windows that suit them
Marlow has a wide mix of housing in a small area, and each type asks something different of a window or door.
Victorian and Edwardian terraces
The streets around the town centre include many Victorian and Edwardian terraces. These homes usually look best with slim frames that keep the original proportions of the openings. Reynaers SlimLine 68 is an outward-opening window that Reynaers describes as “perfect for renovation, retaining the original daylight”, with ultra-slim sightlines. It is also available in Ferro and Classic design variants, which helps when you want a more traditional look.
Riverside homes on the Thames
Homes near the river are more exposed to wind-driven rain. For windows, SlimLine 68 is rated “Extreme” for air, water and wind tightness by Reynaers. For a wide garden or river-facing opening, many owners choose a large sliding door so the view stays clear when the door is shut.
1930s semis
Many 1930s semi-detached homes in and around Marlow have bay fronts and a rear extension, or plans for one. Here, a mix often works well: aluminium windows at the front and bifold or sliding doors at the back. Cortizo and Alunet windows are good options where budget matters as much as sightlines.
New builds and recent developments
Newer homes often have larger openings already built in. Upgrading tired UPVC patio doors to aluminium sliders or bifolds is a common project. If you want to keep costs down, we also fit UPVC windows and doors.
| Marlow home type | What usually matters | Products to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Victorian / Edwardian terrace | Slim, period-appropriate frames | Reynaers SlimLine 68 |
| Riverside home | Weather performance, uninterrupted views | SlimLine 68, Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliders |
| 1930s semi with extension | Value, garden access | Cortizo or Alunet windows, Smart Visofold or Cortizo bifolds |
| New build | Upgrading existing patio doors | ConceptPatio 130, bifolds, UPVC |
| Any home, front entrance | Security, kerb appeal | Composite doors |
Windows in the Marlow conservation area
Marlow has a designated conservation area, and Buckinghamshire Council publishes a Marlow conservation area character survey on its conservation areas page. Little Marlow has its own conservation area too.
Rules can differ from street to street, so we always advise you to check with Buckinghamshire Council before ordering. The Planning Portal notes that homes in conservation areas may face extra restrictions, that some councils use Article 4 Directions to remove permitted development rights, and that listed buildings need listed building consent for significant works.
Our tip: before you speak to the council, ask us for drawings and product details. A clear proposal, showing frame profiles and how the new windows match the originals, makes that conversation much easier.
Aluminium doors for Marlow extensions and gardens
Most door enquiries we get from Marlow are about opening a kitchen or extension onto the garden.
- Sliding doors: Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 vents can be up to 2,700 mm high and 2,700 mm wide, weighing up to 300 kg each, according to Reynaers. Big glass, few frames.
- Bifold doors: we fit Smart Visofold and Cortizo bifolds, not Reynaers bifolds. Bifolds fold right back to open almost the full width.
- Front doors: our composite doors are currently available from £950 + VAT for the first 10 customers who order before 31 October 2026.
Not sure which to choose? Read our guide to Smart Visofold vs Cortizo bifold doors, or see our bifold vs sliding doors guide.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need planning permission for new windows in Marlow?
Usually not, if the new windows look similar to the originals. However, homes in the Marlow conservation area, listed buildings and properties covered by an Article 4 Direction may need consent. Check with Buckinghamshire Council before you order.
Are aluminium windows suitable for period homes in Marlow?
Yes, slim aluminium windows can suit Victorian and Edwardian homes well. Reynaers SlimLine 68 is designed for renovation, with ultra-slim sightlines and Ferro and Classic variants. In the conservation area, confirm the design with the council first.
Is Inspired Glazing based near Marlow?
Yes. Our fabrication works and office are at Coningsby Farm, Coningsby Lane, Fifield, Windsor SL6 2PF. That is about six miles from Marlow, so we can survey and install across SL7 and the nearby villages.
Do you fit Reynaers bifold doors in Marlow?
No. We fit Smart Visofold and Cortizo bifold doors. For Reynaers, we install SlimLine 68 windows and ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors, which suit wide openings where you want large glass panels.
Which villages near Marlow do you cover?
We cover Marlow and nearby villages including Bourne End, Cookham, Little Marlow and Hurley. We also work across Maidenhead and the surrounding area. If your village is not listed, call us to check.
How long do aluminium windows take to install?
It depends on the number of windows and the type of property. We confirm the timescale in your quote after the survey.
