Covering Hampshire from a Berkshire base
We are not a Hampshire firm and we will not pretend to be one. Our surveyors and installers set off from Fifield each morning. Yateley, Fleet, Farnborough and Aldershot sit close to the Berkshire border, so getting there is usually a short run. Basingstoke and Tadley are a comfortable drive down the M3 or across country. Winchester, Andover and Romsey take longer, and the south coast towns around Southampton, Portsmouth and the New Forest are a proper trip down the M3 and M27, typically well over an hour depending on traffic. We plan those visits carefully so that survey, manufacture and fitting days are booked in sensible blocks rather than squeezed in.
Because we make and fit our own frames, the same team that measures your home is the team that installs. Lead times begin from 10 days, every installation carries our 10-year guarantee, and we hold Constructionline Silver accreditation.
Hampshire homes and what suits them
Hampshire is a big county with very different housing from one end to the other, and the right window for a Southsea terrace is rarely the right one for a Basingstoke estate.
North Hampshire and the Blackwater Valley
Farnborough and Aldershot grew around the army and aviation, leaving Victorian and Edwardian streets alongside large twentieth-century estates. Basingstoke expanded rapidly from the 1960s as a London overspill town, so there is a great deal of post-war and modern housing where uPVC windows and doors in flush casement or tilt and turn styles make a clean, low-maintenance upgrade. Homes near Farnborough Airport often ask about acoustic glass, which we can specify in both uPVC and aluminium.
Winchester, Test Valley and East Hampshire
Historic centres such as Winchester, Romsey, Alton and Petersfield are full of Georgian and older frontages. For these, our Selecta Advance 70 uPVC sash windows with woodgrain foils give a traditional look without the upkeep, though we always check what the council will accept first. Andover and the villages towards the North Wessex Downs mix older cottages with newer development, while Whitehill and Bordon is being rebuilt on former garrison land.
Southampton, Portsmouth and the coast
Southampton was heavily rebuilt after wartime bombing, and Portsmouth and Southsea have long runs of Victorian terraces. Gosport, Fareham, Havant and Hayling Island face the Solent and the harbours, where salt air and strong wind make a durable, well-sealed aluminium frame worth considering. Around Lymington, New Milton and Ringwood, many homes sit within or beside the New Forest National Park.
Our products for Hampshire homes

- Sliding doors: Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors suit wide garden openings and sea or forest views.
- Bifold doors: our aluminium bifold doors use Smart Visofold and Cortizo systems.
- Crittall-style glazing: steel-look aluminium windows and Crittall-style internal screens and doors for period homes and open-plan kitchens.
- Composite front doors: secure, insulated composite doors in a range of colours and styles.
- Roof lanterns, conservatories and orangeries: see why roof lanterns change how a room feels.
- Secondary glazing: a practical option for listed buildings where the original windows must stay.
We do not make timber windows. Where a planning officer insists on timber, we will tell you so plainly rather than offer something that will not be approved.
Conservation areas, listed buildings and national parks
Planning in Hampshire is handled by the district, borough and city councils, by Southampton and Portsmouth city councils, and by the New Forest and South Downs National Park authorities in their areas. Romsey, Lymington and Ringwood all have designated conservation areas, and Winchester district alone has dozens. If your home is listed, in a conservation area or inside a national park, check with the relevant planning authority before changing windows or doors. Our guide to planning permission for replacement windows explains the basics, and we are happy to help you prepare drawings and specifications.

Frequently asked questions
Do you really cover all of Hampshire from Windsor?
Yes. We travel from our workshop in Fifield, near Windsor, to towns right across Hampshire, from Yateley and Fleet in the north to Portsmouth, Southampton and the New Forest in the south. Northern towns are a short drive; coastal ones take longer, so we book survey and fitting days in planned blocks to keep things efficient.
How long does it take you to get from Fifield to my part of Hampshire?
It depends on where you live and the traffic. The Blackwater Valley towns such as Farnborough, Fleet and Yateley are close to the Berkshire border. Basingstoke is a fairly easy M3 run, while Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth and the New Forest usually take well over an hour each way.
My house is in a conservation area or national park. Can you still replace the windows?
Often, yes, but approval comes from your planning authority, not from us. Depending on the address that may be your district or city council, or the New Forest or South Downs National Park Authority. We recommend checking with them early, and we can supply drawings, profiles and product details to support an application.
Do you charge for a survey in Hampshire?
No. Surveys are free wherever you are in the county. If you would like to begin without a visit, we also offer a free video-call quote, where you show us your windows and doors on your phone and we talk through options, styles and lead times before arranging a measured survey at your home.
Which windows and doors work best for coastal Hampshire homes?
Near the Solent and the harbours, many homeowners choose aluminium, such as Reynaers SlimLine 68 windows and ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors, for strength and slim frames that make the most of views. uPVC from the Selecta Advance 70 range is a low-maintenance alternative, and composite front doors suit exposed entrances well.
