Smart Systems Aluminium Windows & Bifold Doors
Alitherm aluminium windows and Visofold bifold doors from one of the UK’s best-known aluminium system companies, supplied and expertly fitted by Inspired Glazing across Windsor, Maidenhead and Berkshire.
Who are Smart Systems?
Smart Systems (Smart Architectural Aluminium) is a long-established UK designer and manufacturer of aluminium window and door systems, with over 40 years in the industry. Their Alitherm windows and Visofold bifolds are used by fabricators and installers across the country.
We supply and fit Smart Systems products where they’re the best fit for your budget or design. For most premium projects we recommend our specialist system, Reynaers, and we’re happy to talk you through the differences.
Alitherm aluminium windows
Every Alitherm window uses a polyamide thermal break, so there’s no cold aluminium bridge between inside and out, which was the problem with older aluminium frames.
Alitherm casement windows
Clean, contemporary aluminium casements, a popular and cost-effective choice for replacing older uPVC or aluminium windows.
Alitherm 800
A slimmer, higher-performing window for homes where thermal efficiency and a refined look matter most.
Alitherm Heritage
Slim, steel-look sightlines that recreate traditional Crittall-style windows, ideal for 1930s homes and period properties.
Tilt & turn windows
Opens inward to tilt for secure ventilation or fully for easy cleaning, well suited to upper floors.
Visofold aluminium bifold doors
Visofold is Smart’s bifold door range, and one of the most widely fitted aluminium bifolds in the UK.
Visofold 1000
A proven, reliable bifold with multi-point locking, PAS 24 security and a low-threshold option for a smoother step between kitchen and garden.
Visofold 6000
One of the slimmest bifolds available, with steel-look sightlines for a sharp, architectural finish.
Smart Systems or Reynaers?
Both are quality aluminium systems. The right choice depends on your project and budget, and we’ll always give you an honest recommendation.

Frequently asked questions
Are Smart Systems aluminium windows energy efficient?
Yes. Alitherm windows are thermally broken and, with the right glazing, meet current Building Regulations for replacement windows.
Is the Visofold 1000 bifold secure?
Yes. The Visofold 1000 is PAS 24 certified with multi-point locking and internally beaded glazing, so the glass can’t be removed from outside.
Do you make Smart Systems windows yourselves?
No. Smart Systems products are manufactured to order by specialist fabricators and supplied and fitted by our own installation team. Our specialist system is Reynaers.
Can I get Smart Systems in different colours?
Yes. Frames can be powder coated in a wide range of colours, with popular choices including anthracite grey, black and white.
