Double Glazing in Ringwood: Windows, Doors and Conservatories

For double glazing in Ringwood, Inspired Glazing makes aluminium windows and doors at its workshop in Fifield, near Windsor, and fits them with its own team. UPVC windows, composite doors and conservatories are also on offer. Ringwood is roughly 80 miles from Fifield by road, around an hour and a half via the M3, M27 and A31. We have no office on the edge of the Forest, so surveys and installations are arranged in advance around that journey.

A river town on the Forest’s western edge

Ringwood stands on the east bank of the Hampshire Avon, close to the New Forest. Its centre is old. A century ago most of one side of West Street was thatched cottages, and Monmouth House and the timber-framed Old Cottage still stand there. The Meeting House dates from 1727, and the parish church was built in 1853–55. Victorian rebuilding left its mark too: the old Market House was taken down in 1867 and its facade reused on the corner of Lynes Lane. The Furlong shopping centre was designed to blend with these older buildings.

New Forest District Council lists Ringwood as one of the district’s historic town centres, and the Ringwood conservation area has both an appraisal and a character statement. If you live in the centre, those documents are worth reading before you choose new windows.

Who handles planning in Ringwood?

This catches people out. Most of the land in Ringwood parish lies inside the New Forest National Park, but the majority of the town’s built-up area sits outside it, under New Forest District Council. Depending on your address, the planning authority may be New Forest District Council or the New Forest National Park Authority. Check which one covers you before applying for anything. Conservation areas restrict permitted development rights, and an Article 4 direction can restrict them further. Flats have no householder permitted development rights at all. Our planning permission guide explains the general rules.

The Avon and its floodplain

The Environment Agency runs a flood warning area for the Lower Avon at Ringwood Town. It covers Kingsby Lane, Bickerley Terrace, West Street, Riverside, Lynes Lane, Kings Arm Lane, Strides Lane and the Market Place. If you are on one of these streets, tell us about any past flooding so we can plan door thresholds sensibly.

Products for Ringwood properties

From first call to finished fit

We book a free survey, measure, and talk through options with you. Then you get a written quote, and our double glazing cost guide explains what affects it. Aluminium frames are made in Fifield with lead times from 10 days, and our own installers fit on dates fixed in advance. Every job carries a 10-year guarantee.

Alongside the town, we cover Poulner, Crow, Bisterne, Ellingham and Ibsley. See also our pages for Ferndown, Christchurch and Salisbury.

Villages along the Avon valley

North of the town, Ellingham and Ibsley lie along the valley. Harbridge and Ibsley share a conservation area, and Ellingham’s St Mary’s Church is where Alice Lisle is buried. Poulner, Crow and Bisterne are hamlets within Ringwood parish. The former RAF Ibsley airfield near Poulner later became a motor circuit and is now an area of quarry lakes. Rural cottages on the Forest fringe are the properties most likely to fall under the National Park Authority, so it is worth confirming that first.

We are a listed Reynaers at Home installer partner and Constructionline Silver. Because we make our own aluminium frames in Fifield, we can build to the real sizes of older Ringwood openings rather than forcing stock sizes to fit.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ringwood in the New Forest National Park?

Partly. Most of the land in Ringwood parish lies within the National Park, but the majority of the town's built-up area sits outside it, where New Forest District Council is the planning authority. If your home is on the rural fringes, the New Forest National Park Authority may handle planning instead. Check your address before applying.

Is Ringwood town centre a conservation area?

Yes. New Forest District Council has designated a Ringwood conservation area and publishes an appraisal and character statement for it. It covers part of the historic town centre. Check with the council before replacing windows there, and always if your building is listed.

Which Ringwood streets are at flood risk?

The Environment Agency's Lower Avon at Ringwood Town flood warning area covers Kingsby Lane, Bickerley Terrace, West Street, Riverside, Lynes Lane, Kings Arm Lane, Strides Lane and the Market Place. If you live there, tell us at survey. New windows cannot flood-proof a home, but we can plan door thresholds with the risk in mind.

How do you reach Ringwood from Windsor?

We drive from our workshop in Fifield, near Windsor, roughly 80 miles via the M3, M27 and A31, which usually takes around an hour and a half. We have no local office. Surveys are booked ahead, and installations are planned as consecutive days so the team is not making repeated journeys.

Do you supply UPVC windows in Ringwood?

Yes. Our UPVC windows and doors use the Selecta Advance 70 system, available in white and woodgrain finishes. They suit later homes around the town. If you want slimmer frames or a different colour, our aluminium range starts from £400 a window. A free survey will help you compare the two.
