Planning in Chiswick’s conservation areas
Hounslow Council is the planning authority. Chiswick includes several of its conservation areas, among them Strand on the Green, Old Chiswick, Bedford Park, Grove Park and Turnham Green. The Old Chiswick appraisal notes that changes to the rears of the Chiswick Mall houses will affect the area’s appearance, and several of the Mall houses are listed, which brings listed building consent into play. Delivery, parking and handling
A large ConceptPatio vent can weigh up to 300 kg, and many W4 streets are tightly parked. We apply for a Hounslow parking bay suspension where needed, check the route through the house at survey and, where a door is too big to carry through, discuss splitting the opening into more vents. Flats need the freeholder’s or managing agent’s approval before any change to the rear wall.

How heavy are the glass panels, and can you get them in?
A ConceptPatio 130 vent can weigh up to 300 kg. At survey we measure the route from the street, including the front door and hallway, and plan the vent sizes accordingly. If a panel would be too large to carry through, we may split the opening into more vents or plan access through the garden.
Can I get a slim, minimal sliding door?
ConceptPatio 130 already has a slim central meeting section and large vents. For an even more minimal look, Cortizo Cor Vision Plus lists sashes up to 4 m wide or high, with a bottom rail that can be recessed into the floor. We can compare both against your opening and design.
Do you handle parking for the installation in W4?
Yes. Where you have no driveway, we apply through Hounslow's parking bay suspension process so the van can park outside for unloading and removal of the old doors. We book it once the fitting date is confirmed, and tell you in advance which bays will be suspended and for how long.
