Our main aluminium sliding door for Virginia Water homes is the Reynaers ConceptPatio 130, and Cortizo sliders are available as an alternative. Inspired Glazing is a listed Reynaers at Home installer partner, fabricating in our Fifield workshop about 8 miles away as the crow flies, typically a 20 to 25 minute drive. Our own team surveys and installs every door.

Sliders for gardens, woodland and water
Virginia Water sits beside Windsor Great Park, and many houses back onto woodland, golf courses or long lawns. In those settings the view is the point of the room, and a sliding door shows it best: a few very large panes, slim meeting sections and no stack of folded sashes at the side.
Larger houses here often have an orangery, a pool house or a garden room as well as the main living space, and each can take its own slider, matched in colour and sightline to the house. A slider also works well on the wide, symmetrical rear elevations of Neo-Georgian and modern houses, where two big vents can slide to the centre or to either side. Because the vents move in their own plane, they never block a terrace, a planter or the inside of the room.
What ConceptPatio 130 can do
From the Reynaers published data, which Reynaers says varies with size, profiles, hardware and glass:
- Vents up to 2,700 mm wide and 2,700 mm high, at up to 300 kg per vent, and fixed vents up to the same weight.
- A threshold that can be as low as 4 mm, giving a near-level step out to the terrace.
- Uw 1.4 W/m²K with Ug 1.0 double glazing on the reference size.
- PAS 24 and RC2 security, and impact resistance class I5 to E5.
- Weather performance of Class 4 air, E750 water and B5 wind load.
- An open-corner version for garden rooms with glass on two sides.
Our full Reynaers sliding doors page covers rail layouts, glass and hardware, and our Reynaers windows and sliding doors overview helps if you are glazing the whole house.
Cortizo for oversized glass
Some new builds and remodels in the area call for panes bigger than ConceptPatio allows. Cortizo’s Cor Vision Plus lists sashes up to 4 m in width or height, weighing up to 400 kg with manual operation and 700 kg motorised, with Uw from 0.9 W/m²K and a lower rail that can sit within the floor. See our Cortizo systems page for the range.
Permissions and working on private estates
Runnymede Borough Council is the planning authority here. Voters approved the Virginia Water Neighbourhood Plan in May 2026, and the council has said it will now go through formal adoption. Check with Runnymede Borough Council about your proposal, especially for a new opening or extension. Our planning guide for replacement windows and doors explains the basics.
On the Wentworth Estate, the Roads Committee restricts working and delivery hours to weekdays 8am to 5pm and Saturdays 8am to noon. Vehicles with five or six axles need the Estate office’s express permission, and nothing may be parked or stored on the verges. Big sliding vents travel on large vehicles, so we agree the delivery plan in advance and keep within those rules.
Would bifolds suit you better?
If you entertain outdoors and want the full width open, bifolds may be the answer. Our guide to bifold and sliding doors compares the two, and our Virginia Water bifold page details the folding systems we fit locally.
How we deliver your project
Being close to Fifield helps. Our team can be on site quickly for the survey, for any pre-installation check your builder asks for, and later for routine adjustments to rollers or locks. We visit to survey and measure, then agree layout, glass, colour and threshold details with you or your architect. The doors are fabricated in our workshop, with lead times from 10 days, and our installers fit them, handling vents that can weigh up to 300 kg with the right lifting equipment. The installation is backed by our 10-year guarantee, and we hold Constructionline Silver accreditation for contractor-led projects.

Frequently asked questions
What is the largest sliding door you can fit?
With Reynaers ConceptPatio 130, each vent can be up to 2,700 mm wide and high and weigh up to 300 kg, and several vents can be combined across an opening. For larger panes, Cortizo Cor Vision Plus lists sashes up to 4 m wide or high. We confirm the achievable size for your opening after the survey.
Are there delivery restrictions on the Wentworth Estate?
Yes. The Wentworth Estate Roads Committee limits deliveries and work to 8am to 5pm on weekdays and 8am to noon on Saturdays. Vehicles with five or six axles need express permission from the Estate office, and verges must not be used for parking or storage. We plan your delivery around these rules from the start.
Can a sliding door have a level threshold?
Reynaers lists a minimum threshold height of 4 mm for ConceptPatio 130 in its lowest configurations, so the step between the room and the terrace can be almost flush. That needs a drainage channel outside and the right floor build-up inside. We check the levels during the survey and agree the detail with your builder.
Does the Virginia Water Neighbourhood Plan affect my extension?
It may. Voters approved the plan at referendum in May 2026, and Runnymede said it would then go through formal adoption, after which it carries weight in planning decisions. Whether it affects your rear extension depends on the proposal. Check with Runnymede Borough Council, or ask your architect to read the plan's policies against your design.
How long do Reynaers sliding doors take to arrive?
Lead times start from 10 days once the specification is signed off, because we fabricate in our own workshop at Fifield rather than ordering finished doors. Virginia Water is about 20 to 25 minutes away, so we can fit around your builder's programme and return easily for any later adjustment.
