We make and fit aluminium windows for homes in Weybridge from our own fabrication workshop at Fifield, near Windsor, and the same team that builds the frames comes out to install them. Weybridge lies around 13 miles from Fifield in a straight line; the drive down the M25 generally takes 30 to 40 minutes, so a site visit is never a major expedition.

Where the Wey meets the Thames: a town of contrasts
Weybridge packs a surprising range of homes into a small area. Near the confluence of the Wey and the Thames you find Victorian villas, riverside cottages and newer apartment buildings looking over the water. Oatlands, largely built up by the late 1850s, mixes period terraces with later housing around the old palace grounds. St George’s Hill, laid out by W. G. Tarrant from 1911 on plots of at least an acre, holds large detached houses in woodland settings, and Brooklands to the south has gained modern homes beside its famous motor-racing heritage.
What we tend to suggest
- Victorian and Edwardian houses near the town centre: slim heritage casements or flush casements with a stepped or flat profile.
- Large St George’s Hill homes: wide fixed panes, tilt and turn windows for safe cleaning upstairs, and big sliding doors on the garden side.
- Riverside flats and newer developments: tilt and turn units with good acoustic and thermal glass, often in anthracite grey or black.
The aluminium systems behind our Weybridge installations
Most of our window work uses the Reynaers SlimLine 68 slim-profile system. On the Reynaers technical data, SlimLine 68 reaches a Uw of 1.1 W/m²K with triple glazing and carries PAS 24 burglar resistance, which matters on secluded detached plots. We also fabricate Cortizo and Alunet windows when a project calls for a different profile shape, and Crittall-style aluminium windows and screens for homeowners who want the slender steel-window look without the cold frames. Find out more on our aluminium windows and doors page, or compare materials on our uPVC or aluminium casement windows guide.
Weybridge planning: conservation areas and flats
Weybridge falls under Elmbridge Borough Council for now. Surrey’s councils are being replaced by two unitary authorities from 1 April 2027, with Elmbridge joining the new East Surrey council, so check which body handles applications at the time you apply. Elmbridge has designated two conservation areas here: Weybridge (Town Centre), first designated in 1977 and extended in 2006, and Weybridge (Monument Green), designated in 1990. Changing window style on a front elevation in either area deserves a conversation with Elmbridge first.
Flats matter here too. Census figures show flats are the most common type of home across both Weybridge North and Weybridge South. Flats do not have householder permitted development rights, so replacing windows in an apartment can need planning permission, and you will almost always need consent from the freeholder or managing agent. Our guide to planning and replacement windows sets out the questions to ask.
Thermal comfort near the river
Low-lying streets near the Thames and the Wey can feel damp and cool through winter, and older single-glazed or early double-glazed units let heat escape quickly. A thermally broken aluminium frame with warm-edge spacers and a modern sealed unit noticeably improves comfort. We can supply double or triple glazing; our double glazing in Weybridge page explains the differences in more detail. If traffic noise from the A317 or the railway towards Waterloo is a nuisance, ask about sound reducing glass.
Finishes, doors and other products
Powder coating means frames can match almost any colour, from soft whites on Oatlands cottages to deep grey and black windows on modern rebuilds. To link the house to the garden, we install Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors and Smart Visofold and Cortizo bifold doors, along with aluminium front doors. For those who want a mix of materials, we also offer uPVC windows and doors in Weybridge and uPVC conservatories in Weybridge.
Security on secluded plots
Large gardens, tree cover and long driveways give many Weybridge homes privacy, but they can also hide an intruder. Multi-point locking, laminated inner panes and internally beaded glass all make aluminium windows harder to force. Because SlimLine 68 is tested to PAS 24, it provides a recognised baseline, and we can add lockable handles and restrictors for upstairs rooms where children sleep. Ask us at survey which combination fits each elevation.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace the windows in my Weybridge flat without planning permission?
Not automatically. Flats do not have the householder permitted development rights that houses enjoy, so changing windows can require planning permission from the council. You will also usually need written consent from your freeholder or managing agent, and many leases set out rules on colour and style. We can supply drawings and specifications to help with both.
Which council handles window applications in Weybridge?
Elmbridge Borough Council currently deals with planning in Weybridge. Surrey is moving to two unitary councils on 1 April 2027, and Elmbridge will become part of East Surrey. Check with Elmbridge, or its successor, about the conservation area rules for the Town Centre and Monument Green areas before choosing a design.
Are slim aluminium windows suitable for Victorian homes in Weybridge?
Yes. Slim profiles such as Reynaers SlimLine 68 keep sightlines narrow, so the glass area and proportions stay close to the originals. Flush casements sit level with the frame, much like traditional timber casements. We can also add glazing bars and choose subtle colours, which helps when a house sits in or near a conservation area.
How far is Weybridge from your workshop?
Weybridge is around 13 miles from our Fifield workshop in a straight line. In normal traffic the drive via the M25 takes about 30 to 40 minutes. That short journey lets us offer a free survey at a time that suits you, and our own team handles both fabrication and fitting.
Do you recommend triple glazing for riverside homes in Weybridge?
Triple glazing improves heat retention and can help with noise, but it adds weight and is not always necessary. For many Weybridge homes a high-performance double-glazed unit is enough. Reynaers quotes a Uw of 1.1 W/m²K for SlimLine 68 with triple glazing. We compare both options for your rooms during the survey.
