For aluminium sliding doors in Beaconsfield, we lead with the Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 system, which takes vents up to 2.7 metres high, 2.7 metres wide and 300 kg in weight. Inspired Glazing is a listed Reynaers at Home installer partner, making the doors in our Fifield workshop near Windsor and fitting them with our own team under a 10-year guarantee.

Slim glass walls for Beaconsfield gardens
Beaconsfield’s New Town grew after the railway came in 1905, and roads such as Gregories Road, Chiltern Hill Road, Beechwood Road and Burkes Road have large individually designed houses on generous plots with mature trees. Penn Road and Ledborough Lane have big houses in substantial gardens too. Long lawns and established planting are exactly where a sliding door earns its place: large panes, a slim meeting section, and the garden in full view whether the doors are open or closed.
ConceptPatio 130 specification
Reynaers publishes the following, and we confirm the figures for your sizes:
- Vents up to 2,700 mm high and 2,700 mm wide, from 700 mm wide minimum.
- Maximum vent weight of 300 kg.
- Slide or lift-and-slide, in monorail, 2-rail or 3-rail.
- Uw 1.4 W/mยฒK on the reference door with 1.0 W/mยฒK glazing.
- Security tested to PAS 24, with an RC2 rating.
- Glass up to 43 mm thick in the vent, and threshold options from 4 mm in some layouts.
A monorail layout pairs one sliding vent with a large fixed pane, which suits a garden room with a single wide view. See our Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 page for the details, and the Reynaers windows and doors overview for matching windows.
Cortizo sliding systems are an alternative we can also make; read about them on our Cortizo page.
Planning in Buckinghamshire
Buckinghamshire Council is the planning authority. The Beaconsfield Old Town Conservation Area holds most of the town’s listed buildings, and Hampden Hill became a conservation area in 2005. Several New Town roads are Areas of Special Character, where the council takes particular interest in how extensions look. Check with Buckinghamshire Council early in the design stage. Our planning permission guide covers the common questions.
Survey and installation from Fifield
Our workshop is roughly 8 miles away, about 20 to 30 minutes on the road. We come from Fifield to survey and return to install with our own fitters. Lead time is from 10 days after you approve drawings. Being close also helps when a build programme shifts, as we can revisit to check the opening before fabrication.
We look at drive access, side gates and the carry route for long panes at the survey, and agree delivery with you and your builder.
Is a slider or a bifold right for you?
If you want the whole wall open in summer, a bifold may suit better. If the view and slim frames matter most, a slider wins. Our guide comparing bifolds and sliders explains why, and our Beaconsfield bifold doors page covers the folding option.
Getting the most from the view
On a large plot the doors usually face the main lawn, so we think about the position of the meeting section relative to the garden’s focal point, such as a tree or a path. Fixed panes beside a sliding vent can be made as wide as the system allows, which keeps the view clear. Solar control glass helps on south or west elevations, and laminated glass adds security. Ask us to confirm the finishes available for ConceptPatio 130 for your project.
Care is simple: keep the track free of leaves and grit, clean the frames now and then, and the rollers and seals will keep running well. We are close by if anything ever needs adjusting.
For older houses in the Old Town or along Penn Road, we can also advise on proportions, so a modern slider sits comfortably beside original brickwork and windows. Your architect may prefer narrower frames or a particular colour to suit the period of the house.
Other areas we cover
We fit sliding doors in Gerrards Cross, Moor Park and Winkfield too.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between monorail and 2-rail sliders?
A monorail door has one sliding vent beside a fixed pane, so it gives a single opening with a large fixed view. A 2-rail door has two vents that can slide past each other, so either side can open. Reynaers gives both a 130 mm frame depth. We suggest the layout that suits how you use the room.
Can sliding doors be fitted in the Old Town conservation area?
It depends on the building and the work. Most of Beaconsfield's listed buildings are in the Old Town Conservation Area, and a listed house needs listed building consent for new or altered openings. Check with Buckinghamshire Council first. We can supply drawings and data to support any application your architect makes.
Are large sliding panes heavy to open?
On lift-and-slide versions, turning the handle lifts the vent off its seals so it rolls freely, which keeps even a large, heavy pane easy to move. When you close it and turn the handle back, it lowers onto the seals. For smaller openings, the standard slide version runs smoothly on its rail.
How long is the lead time for sliding doors?
Lead times start from 10 days once you sign off our drawings. Larger or more complex doors, special glass or unusual finishes can take longer, and we give you a date when we confirm the order. As we are about 20 to 30 minutes away, we can fit around your builder's programme.
Can you replace old sliding patio doors with ConceptPatio 130?
Yes. We survey the existing opening, check the lintel and floor levels, and design a ConceptPatio 130 door to fit. Sometimes a wider or taller opening is possible with new structural work, which your builder or engineer would design. If the house is in a conservation area, check with Buckinghamshire Council first.
