Inspired Glazing supplies and installs double glazing in Kenilworth: aluminium windows and doors made in our own workshop, plus UPVC windows, composite doors and conservatories. We are based at Fifield, near Windsor, which is roughly 85 miles from Kenilworth by road and usually around an hour and a half to an hour and three-quarters, depending on traffic on the M40. Because of that distance, we plan surveys and fitting days in advance and travel up with everything we need.

Sixteen conservation areas in one town
Few towns of Kenilworth’s size have so much protected ground. Warwick District Council’s guide lists sixteen conservation areas, and they read like a history of local housing:
- 16th-century timber-framed and thatched cottages at Castle Hill and Little Virginia, and mixed buildings of the 15th to 20th centuries around Castle Green;
- 17th-century listed cottages on Bridge Street beside Finham Brook, and 17th to 19th-century brick, render and stone along High Street and New Street;
- timber-framed, Georgian and Victorian houses in brick, render and slate on Abbey Hill, looking over Abbey Fields and the remains of the abbey, which is itself a conservation area;
- a mid-19th-century planned group of stucco villas at Upper Ladyes Hill, with Victorian terraces at Lower Ladyes Hill;
- Victorian villas and late-Victorian and Edwardian terraces along Waverley Road and Station Road, and early 20th-century detached houses on Forest Road.
The council’s notes are pointed about windows. In New Street it asks for historically correct replacements; on Clarendon Road it records that original windows and door features remain; on Waverley Road and Station Road it says some window reinstatement still needs addressing. If your house sits in one of these areas, check with Warwick District Council before you choose frames. Our planning guide for replacement windows covers the basics, including the fact that flats have no householder permitted development rights.
The town’s 20th-century growth is just as visible. Big Victorian houses with large gardens were cleared after the World Wars for new housing, Talisman Square is a 1960s precinct, and the reopening of the station in 2018 put the town back on the Coventry to Leamington line.
The Kenilworth Society, formed in 1961 to protect the 17th-century cottages on Bridge Street, still promotes the preservation of the town’s older buildings. Warwick District Council will be replaced by a new South Warwickshire Council, with the change expected to be complete on 1 April 2028; until then it remains the planning authority.
Products that suit Kenilworth homes
Period houses outside the strictest controls
Our aluminium windows are led by the Reynaers SlimLine 68, an outward-opening casement with slim profiles that keeps a Victorian or Edwardian elevation light. Cortizo and Alunet aluminium give further choice. We do not make timber windows, and if a listed cottage needs timber we will say so; secondary glazing can then add warmth without changing the originals.
Post-war and modern family houses
Across Crackley, Windy Arbour and Whitemoor, our UPVC windows and doors in Selecta Advance 70 are a straightforward upgrade, and a composite front door adds a timber-look finish.
Living space at the back
For a kitchen extension or garden room, Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors, Smart Visofold or Cortizo bifold doors, or a conservatory, orangery or roof lantern. We also fit porches, garage doors, fascias, soffits, guttering, blinds and shutters.
Areas we cover
We work throughout Kenilworth, from Castle Green and Ladyes Hill to Park Hill and Crackley, and in nearby Leek Wootton and Ashow. You may also want our pages on double glazing in Warwick, Coventry and Leamington Spa.

Frequently asked questions
Is my Kenilworth house in a conservation area?
Quite possibly. Warwick District Council lists sixteen conservation areas in Kenilworth, including Abbey Hill, Bridge Street, High Street, Clarendon Road, Waverley Road and Station Road, and Upper and Lower Ladyes Hill. The council publishes a guide with maps, and it can confirm whether your address is covered and what consent you need before replacing windows.
Can you replace windows in a thatched or timber-framed cottage?
Many of Kenilworth's oldest cottages are listed, which means listed building consent is needed and the council may want timber. We do not make timber windows, so we will tell you honestly if that applies. Our secondary glazing can improve warmth and cut noise while the original windows stay in place.
How long does it take to get new windows in Kenilworth?
Aluminium frames are made in our Fifield workshop with lead times from 10 days after the survey and order are confirmed. Because Kenilworth is roughly 85 miles away, we agree the installation date with you in advance, and most window-only jobs are planned so our team can complete them in as few trips as possible.
Which windows suit a Victorian villa in Kenilworth?
If the house is not listed, slim aluminium casements such as the Reynaers SlimLine 68 suit the proportions of Victorian and Edwardian villas, with colours and hardware chosen to match the elevation. In a conservation area, check with Warwick District Council first, as its guidance asks for historically appropriate replacements in some streets.
Do you do sliding or bifold doors for Kenilworth extensions?
Yes. We install Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors for wide, slim-framed glass, and Smart Visofold or Cortizo aluminium bifold doors where you want the opening to fold right back. We can also build a conservatory, orangery or roof lantern to bring more light into a rear extension.
