Surrey is one of the busiest parts of our patch. From our workshop at Coningsby Farm in Fifield, near Windsor, we fabricate aluminium windows and doors ourselves and send our own installation team out to homes across the county. We do not have a Surrey showroom or a local office, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we do have is a short run down the M4, M25 and A-roads into north and west Surrey, and a team that knows the difference between a Victorian villa in Weybridge and a 1960s chalet bungalow on the edge of Camberley.

Where we work in Surrey
Most of our Surrey work falls within a ring of towns that sit between ten and twenty-six miles from Fifield as the crow flies, a little further by road. The areas we cover most often are:
- Woking, including Byfleet, West Byfleet, Pyrford, Knaphill and Horsell. See our Woking windows and doors page.
- Guildford, including Merrow, Burpham, Shalford, Godalming and Cranleigh. See our Guildford windows and doors page.
- Camberley and the wider Surrey Heath area.
- Farnham, and the Farnborough area just over the Hampshire border.
- Epsom and Ewell.
- Reigate and Redhill.
- Dorking and the Mole Valley villages.
- Weybridge and Cobham in Elmbridge.
If your town is not listed, ask. If it is genuinely too far for us to survey and fit well, we will tell you rather than stretch ourselves thin.
Surrey homes and what tends to suit them
Surrey’s housing is unusually mixed. Railway towns such as Woking grew quickly in the Victorian and Edwardian years, so red-brick terraces and villas sit alongside Arts and Crafts houses on large plots. Elmbridge and the Mole Valley have plenty of substantial detached homes from the inter-war and post-war decades. Newer estates around Camberley, Farnborough and Redhill bring modern cavity-wall construction and standard opening sizes.
That mix shapes what we recommend:
- Period and Arts and Crafts homes often suit slim aluminium frames with glazing bars, where the aim is to keep a fine, traditional pattern while improving comfort and security.
- Contemporary and remodelled homes tend to benefit most from wide glass: Reynaers ConceptPatio 130 sliding doors or aluminium bifold doors from Smart Visofold and Cortizo opening onto the garden.
- Rentals, rear elevations and budget-led projects are where UPVC can be the sensible answer, and we are happy to say so.
- Front entrances on most house types can take one of our composite doors.

The Surrey Hills National Landscape
The Surrey Hills was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1958, one of the first in the country, and became the Surrey Hills National Landscape in November 2023. It covers roughly a quarter of the county, taking in the chalk of the North Downs and the greensand hills to the south, with many villages around Dorking, Guildford and Reigate inside or close to it.
A National Landscape designation does not ban new windows, but it does mean planners take the look of buildings and their setting seriously. If your home sits within the Surrey Hills, or in one of the many conservation areas scattered across the county, it is worth checking with your local council before you commit to a change of material, colour or style. We will raise this at survey and help you put together the details a planning officer is likely to ask for, but we will never tell you what the rules are for your street: only the council can do that.
Conservation areas and who to ask
Each Surrey borough runs its own conservation areas, and some have Article 4 Directions that bring window and door replacement on front elevations under planning control. Guildford Borough Council, for example, lists forty conservation areas and has confirmed Article 4 Directions in seven of them. Woking Borough Council has more than twenty.
Planning in Surrey is also about to change. The government has confirmed that the county’s district and borough councils will be replaced by two new unitary councils, West Surrey and East Surrey, from 1 April 2027. Until then, check with your current borough council; after that date, check with the new authority that covers your address. The practical advice is the same either way: ask before you order.
How a Surrey survey and installation works
- Survey. One of our team visits, measures every opening, looks at the brickwork, lintels and existing frames, and talks through how you use each room.
- Quotation. You receive a written quote that names the system, glass, colour and hardware. Prices start from £400, depending on size and specification.
- Fabrication. Aluminium frames are made in our Fifield workshop. Current lead time is from 10 days.
- Installation. Our own fitters travel from Fifield, remove the old frames, install, seal and make good, and take the waste away.
- Aftercare. Your guarantee lasts 10 years.

Why Surrey homeowners choose us
We are a listed Reynaers at Home installer partner and hold Constructionline Silver. Because we make our aluminium frames ourselves, the people who measure your home, build your windows and fit them are part of the same small business. If something needs adjusting, you speak to us directly, not to a call centre. You can also contact us with a question before booking anything.

Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Surrey do you cover?
We cover most of north, west and central Surrey, including Woking, Guildford, Camberley, Farnham, Epsom, Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, Weybridge and Cobham, plus the Farnborough area in Hampshire. Our team travels from our workshop in Fifield, near Windsor. If you are unsure whether we reach your village, call us and we will give you an honest answer.
Do I need planning permission for new windows in the Surrey Hills?
Not always, but the Surrey Hills National Landscape and Surrey’s many conservation areas mean it is worth checking first. Some areas have Article 4 Directions covering windows and doors on front elevations. Check with your borough council, or the new West or East Surrey council from April 2027, before ordering. We can help prepare the product details planners usually ask for.
Do you have a showroom or office in Surrey?
No. We fabricate and work from Coningsby Farm in Fifield, near Windsor, which is roughly ten to twenty-six miles from most Surrey towns as the crow flies. Our surveyors and installers travel out to you.
Should I choose aluminium or UPVC for my Surrey home?
It depends on the house and the budget. Aluminium suits period homes that need slim frames, and modern homes with large glazed openings. UPVC can be a sensible choice for rentals, rear elevations or tighter budgets. At survey we will look at each opening and explain the trade-offs plainly, rather than pushing one material everywhere.
How long does a Surrey installation take?
Current fabrication lead time is from 10 days, counted from order. Once frames are ready, most homes are fitted in a matter of days, depending on how many openings there are and whether any structural work, such as new lintels, is needed. We will give you a realistic schedule in your written quotation, and our own team carries out the work.
